Job Hunting....
....ok, answer me this, dear readers....when you look for a new job, do you tell your current employer about the fact that you're job hunting?? Um, that would more than likely be an answer that takes on the form of about "hell, no, are you fucking crazy?" So does everyone NOW SEE why I declined to tell my CURRENT EMPLOYERS that I interviewed for a job? A single solitary job? Because why have their feathers ruffled needlessly? And why should I have to look like an ass (again), when no one hires me at this current juncture?
fit over, you may now talk amongst yourselves....

Yikes !!
Someone got your knickers in a twist :)
Although, to be perfectly honest, I don't really think that this owuld count as a 'current employeers' situation. Go ahead, shoot me...
Truthfully, isn't good day care a pain in the @$$ to find, and if I knew my DCP was looking for another job, I'd really really want to know because I'd need way more then two weeks to be able to find another place for my children.
That is the EXACT reason I will never work outside the home, I TRUST NO ONE :) I would feel guilty as all heck having somone else raise my child for a majority of the day while I was at work. We are SO fortunate enough that I don't have to work outside the home, and probably won't ever have to worry about it.
My Mom did the day care thing when me and my brother were growing up, until I was in HS, then she opened an actual day care, so I am kind of familiar with the whole shabang.
I totally don't want to discourage you in anyway from being happy and getting a job you love with better hours, because that would benefit your whole family, but what would be so wrong with admitting to the Mom's now that they might need ot start looking? I bet they'd be glad you were honest with them upfront...
p.s.
I must be blind, I've had to retype that word verification thing 3 times now...

Ok, so in my experience I have never told my current employer that I was looking for a job when I was. In fact, I didn't even tell Chi Chis I was going to law school b/c NO ONE was going to hire me temporarily so a little white lie didn't hurt anyone, and I don't regret it at all. Unethical, yes. but you have to look out for yourself, too. Because, what if this job thing doesn't turn out (which I'm not at all saying) but you don't want to lose current clients if they jump ship prematurely, you know? Because they will start looking for other childcare providers to protect their own asses, and if you decide not to take this job or whatever, you will be up shit creek without a paddle. But that's just my two cents.
I'm praying really hard for you that you do get the right job for you. I know you haven't been too happy, and I just want you to be happy Steph. Love you!

oh and other subject, but are you guys planning on coming to graduation? Just curious - I'm ok either way but mom had asked the other day, and honestly I wasn't sure :-) later!
