A Wonderful Evening.....

....so today was pretty much the run-of-the-mill day. Not much ado at the Zoo. I have a child who might be in a commercial for a local hospital. Her audition was today, which brought the count down to four extra. Can we say heaven? It was a good day. Attitude runs high amongst the two year-olds of the crew, but other than that, we're doing ok. And I honestly mean ok. Strange to say, huh? Not to say that there aren't days where I'm totally wanting to curl up into the fetal position in a corner and chew my hair (thanks for that one, Nain!), but I'm doing ok today. For this very moment.

....Why, might you ask, am I having such a change in heart? Well, I found some of my perspective....though I do admit that some of it has still gone missing. I'm feeling a little more human these days. The other part, I can thank my two dates for the evening, Tiff and Nain. I had the most wonderful time going out to eat with you tonight, girlies. We drank, ate, talked, and laughed. And I needed that. It's just what the doctor ordered, and I'm hoping that the prescription has a refill. The funny part? We old fogies turn in around 10:00. So it's 11:00, and I've talked with my boy (found out that he does, indeed, only have two pair of underwear...the rest really have gone missing. He'll be the next to grow a Rainforest in his nether-regions....) and to my husband, and I shall be turning in soon. Right after I give the Hackster, a.k.a. Griffin, a shot with the neb. It's that time of year again.

But for this very moment in time, I'm a contented Zookeeper. I'll savor it, and have it to look back on the next time I'm stepping ever closer to the edge.
